Humble Beast is seeking all great lyricist!
That should be their mantra! The busy label has been constantly releasing music and signing new artist. Signing Eshon Burgundy was a monster move; and now they sign lyrical genius, JGivens. For JGivens, this was a move that makes a ton of sense. His style is perfect for the Humble Beast fan base and releasing Elvy vs Envy on the same day that Propaganda released Crimson Cord was brilliant.
Humble Beast has had the two most exciting signing in the past 12 months of an CHH label. I cannot wait to see what they do with JGivens.
Why did We Listened: Eshon has proven himself as one of the best Emcees on the Christian side of the business. So when he signed with Humble Beast the CHH world all sat at the edge of their seat waiting for the first project released under the Humble Beast Label.
Eshon's grind is unique, he is as talented as can be on the mic, but he beings even more to the table as a producer and talented director. I will be downloading immediately anything that this dude releases.
Why You Should Too: Do you know what happens every time an Eshon Burgundy record plays? After its over, its played again. You can never catch everything he says in the first listen, and personally, I love that. When an Emcee makes my head spin with his lyrics it feels like it was worth the experience.
Eshon's flow is so consistent, and so strong throughout the Mixtape that he hardly has need for any hooks at all. The way that Eshon twists bar after bar is so entertaining. I am always wondering what he is going to say next.
The song Exodus 23:1 and its video are tough as nails and set a tone for the entire mixtape.
"The only one
who came and got me out of prison
Broke us up while me and death
was out there kissin
Ya'll ain't listenin though"
The Mixtape name and theme are well put together and Eshon offer hope in each song. Sometimes its hope for the one who is in a rough spot, sometimes its hope for the one fighting his own sin and sometimes is just hope of a future joy. Eshon has put together a masterpiece of a mixtape and I think anyone can appreciate his skills on the mic. Check it out.

For God's sake is a great album. AND FREE
I am jacked that Eshon Burgundy has just signed on with Humble Beast. I love what Humble Beast stands for and I love how Eshon fits their roster. He is a lyricist at the core, but also brings a new flavor to the Humble Beast records.
I also love that signing with Humble Beast means free music from Eshon!
Check out Eshon’s free album Blood Rushing to My Head. Eshon is crazy talented artist. I can’t wait to hear more.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Eshon’s talents extend beyond the mic. He is a great music producer and will bring a lot to the Humble Beast table in that respect, but he is also a video director. He has directed many quality music videos that you can see here.
Check this man out!
